SKILLS FOR EMPLOYMENT IN THE TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY

This project is implemented by Cégep Saint-Jérôme with the contribution of Éducation internationale.

The objective of the project is to promote the development of a sustainable tourism industry in Haiti by supporting the Ministry of Tourism (MDT) and the National Institute for Vocational Training (INFP). The project supports those establishments in the implementation of 4 hospitality training programs, developed using the competency-based approach, in 5 educational institutions of the Port-au-Prince and Cayes regions.

The axes of intervention are the following:

• Development of 3 hospitality programs using the competency-based approach and update of a catering service program
• Support in the implementation of these programs in the 5 targeted educational institutions
• Enhancement of the collaboration between the educational institutions and the Haitian hospitality and tourism industry
• Improvement of the consideration of the gender equality issues in the teaching of the training modules, as well as the awareness of the industry about them
