The ministère de l’Éducation et de l'Enseignement supérieur du Québec (MEES) has given the mandate of developing and managing the Québec Network of UNESCO Associated Schools to a committee comprised of representatives from the following partner organizations: Éducation internationale (EI), the Fédération des commissions scolaires du Québec (FCSQ), the Centrale des syndicats du Québec (CSQ) and the Fédération des établissements d’enseignement privés (FEEP).

Through an annual competition, the Québec Network offers elementary and secondary schools the opportunity to participate in building a network open to the world and have access to activities of this vibrant network of schools inspired by the principles of UNESCO.

Objectives of the Network:

·         Contribute to the quality of education by strengthening the four pillars of education defined by the UNESCO International Commission on Education for the 21st century: learning to know, learning to do, learning to be and learning to live together.

·         Play an innovative leadership role within the education system, serve as a standard-setter and build cooperation among partner institutions in Canada and abroad.

·         Carry out innovative projects in the community to promote democracy, tolerance and the respect of differences.

·         Raise youth awareness of global issues and help them gain insight into globalization to promote their participation in building a culture of peace.
