Who can become a member of the Cooperative?

Only Quebec-based organisations can become members of the Cooperative. There are two categories of membership : members and auxiliary members

Members :

A member can be a school board, a school board federation or association, or any other organisation which was created by one or more school boards.

Auxiliary members :

An auxiliary member can be an institute, a cegep or a private college (authorised by the ministère de l’Éducation et de l'Enseignement supérieur (MEES) and must offer both pre-university general and technical education)

Rights of Auxiliary members

Auxiliary members have the same rights as regular members, but with a few exceptions. Auxiliary members are convened to the general assemblies of members. They can assist to the general assembly and have the right to speak but they cannot vote nor can they occupy a board function.

Auxiliary members have access to the MEES funding programs that are managed by Education internationale and that are targeted at their education level. Auxiliary members also have access to all the Cooperative’s services. However, services of the international recruitment department are limited to its comprehensive “turnkey” services and its tailored services, provided the Board of directors has authorised the Cooperative to provide the service to the Auxiliary member(s).

Benefits of membership :

Advantages of being part of the Cooperative’s membership include benefiting from its various services, notably:

  • Access to advisory services in international mobility, development and recruitment.
  • Access to mobility programs for students and teachers.
  • Participation in the implementation of international development and cooperation projects.
  • Access to comprehensive services to recruit international students.
  • Access to about $3 000 000 of annual funding and project revenus, an average of almost $54 600 per member per year.
  • And much more…

Membership fees :

To become a member of the Cooperative, an organisation must : i) purchase one hundred (100) membership shares at a par value of ten dollars ($10) each, for a total value of one thousand dollar ($1000); ii) and pay an annual membership fee which varies with the size of the organisation.
